Merry Christmas Paddle!

We had an amazing night paddling through the Christmas trees of the Newport Dunes. Thankful no one fell in the water but we did have a lot of cold toes. We also enjoyed hot cocoa and delicious Christmas cookies. We're stoked to have partnered with our friends Krochet Kids and sold over 14 hats. Each hat is handmade and helps women in Uganda rise above poverty! Check them out

Pirate Coast featured in Newport Independent!

We're pleased to be featured in the pages of the Newport Independent.
The article is really about you. It's not about us, it's about you and the community coming together for one cause and that's LOVE. We all rallied together and raised money for a cause centered in love for people who desperately need clean water to survive. We're so grateful you responded and played apart in changing the lives of the Bayaka people in Central Africa. Check out the article here:

THANK YOU- WE DID IT!!

When the three of us first dreamt of starting a Stand Up Paddle board company we all agreed that it had to somehow function to help the poor and needy. In fact we were more empowered and excited to help “change the world” through Pirate Coast then how to actually start a company. We loved the idea of one day providing a rural marginalized village of people in Africa clean water. So campaigning for clean water became our first “cause” initiative. The reason we chose water was 2 folds:
1.) 1 billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean water & 42,000 people die per week from unsafe water.
2) Water and Paddling boarding go hand and hand, so Paddling for Water seemed to be a good fit.

After a great first summer we felt September was a perfect time to start planning and preparing a Charity: Water campaign and event that could potential provide water well for the Bayaka people of the Central African Republic. Mark and Terence both have birthdays in September and agreed to utilize their birthday’s to help encourage people to give to the Paddle for Water campaign.

To our amazement we launched the campaign and within 8 weeks we reached our goal! We couldn’t be more grateful for the support and generosity of our friends, families, local businesses and fans of Pirate Coast.

100% of the funds you donated go directly to Charity: Water , who will in turn drill and build a well within 12 months from the day we reached our goal. The well will provide over 250 Bayakan people clean drinking water for over 20 years. So lives will surely be CHANGED.

On October 23rd approximately 30 people who donated to the Paddle for Water campaign will physically be paddling for Water at the Newport Aquatic Center. We’re so stoked for the event and even more stoked that together we helped change the world for 250 Bayakan people. Thank you for helping us change the world.

Paddle for WATER

We're so grateful for all your support in raising funds to complete our goal to build a clean water well in the Central African Republic. We've raised $3,250.00 in just over 1 month!

The truth is we still need your help, and NO we're not asking you for more money. We are asking you to share the cause with your friends. Please post it to Facebook, twitter, email, text message friends, etc. The more exposure we get the closer to reaching our goal of $5,000.00

We have some great local sponsors who have generousily donated some rad stuff for the raffle. So not only are you donating to a great cause, but you have a really good chance of winning some amazing prizes.

After the social paddle on Oct. 23rd we will celebrate on the beach at the Newport Aquatic Center with appetizers and snacks provided by Blue Water Grill. The raffle will take place on the beach after the event around 2:30pm.

A Day @ Buccaneer Kids Camp!

Today 7 new Buccaneers started our 5 day Kids Stand Up Paddle Camp and what a fun day it was! We had 7 girls all excited to learn how to SUP and have fun in the sun.We were very impressed at how well the girls picked up the basics of SUP, but there is still plenty to learn.

The skill of the day was the forward stroke, which all the girls just about perfected. The highlight of the day was taking a fun boat ride and singing " Yo Ho- Yo Ho- A Pirates Life for me". The adventure continues tomorrow.
